The Iron Man 2 media hype made use of a whole lot of specific product placement which included automotive manufacturer Audi and electronics giant LG.
The only definite info floating around was that the release of LG’s newest phone the LG Ally was to coincide with the release of the movie, what with it being part of the Iron Man 2 media blitz and all.
But soon after a special website went live, more details have emerged.
Running on Android OS 2.1, the LG Ally sports a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, a microSD slot and a rear built-in 3.2 camera with flash. It also sports WiFi, a music player, Google talk, Google maps, Bluetooth and GPS. Not bad.
Based on the image gallery, the microSD slot supports cards at least up to 16GB. Social networking apps have taken centre stage, with Facebook and Twitter featuring prominently on the home screen, and apparently the wallpaper responds to touch. Cool. Sort of like live wallpapers on the Nexus One.
However, I’d like to know just how much processing horsepower and RAM its got under that exterior. But until LG releases the full specs, any speculation on the matter is useless.
